Struggles are an integral part of almost every successful sports story. Ravi Bishnoi had his struggles as well. However, he struggled for something that most players take for granted - a place to train. He trumped his obstacles with grit and perseverance and made his way into the limelight. Born on September 5, 2000, in Jodhpur, Bishnoi was faced with a complicated problem at the beginning of his cricketing journey - lack of cricket culture in Western Rajasthan. He solved it by building a cricket academy with the help of his friends and coaches. Then he was faced with rejections in U-16 and U-19 trials. In typical Bishnoi fashion, he trumped them and finally made it to the Rajasthan U-19 team. He made his List A debut for Rajasthan in the 2019-2020 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Bishnoi first came into the limelight with his performance for India in the 2020 U-19 World Cup. He was the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets. This paved his way into the 2020 IPL. In his first season for the Kings XI Punjab, he took 12 wickets and was nominated for the Emerging Player Award.
